A pleasant visit to the Food Emporium

Dear Food Emporium,

Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed shopping in your Union Square market today. After living in Manhattan for the past 10 years, I think I had lowered my standards for grocery store shopping without even realizing it. Supermarkets and bodegas here seem optimized for speed, not cleanliness or a large selection. Stepping into your store reminded me how nice the experience could be.

I live only a few blocks from your store, but there are several closer grocery stores, and we often just order from FreshDirect anyway, so I had surprisingly never been inside your store before. But I happened to take a different (walking) route to work today, and thought I would stop in to pick up some snacks.

How spacious! How clean! What a polite cashier! Rather than the cramped NYC groceries I had gotten used to, your store must have been about half the size of a suburban supermarket; in other words, gigantic for Manhattan. So, your selection was larger: instead of just baby carrots, you had petite carrots, too (and non-organic, which is great). And instead of just Cheez-its, you had reduced fat Cheez-its, too. Likewise for everything else. I was even impressed by the nice Union Square mural by the registers.

That's all I have to say. Keep up the nice work.

Sincerely,

Jesse

PS. The page to leave the comment is very nice, as well.
